Born on June 16, 1935, in Denison, IA
Died peacefully January 7, 2024, surrounded by family.
Raised in Neola, IA and lived in Omaha, NE, a city she loved.
Evelyn had an unbeatable wit. She was known for her humorous phrases such as “We’re in Tall Clover!” “How’s Your Gizzard?” and the classic retort when anyone asked her an obvious question, “Does the Pope Work Sundays?” She always had an amazingly positive attitude and would find the silver lining in all situations. She made everyone feel special when speaking with her and will truly be missed by all who were lucky enough to know her.

Evelyn was always smiling and was a true joy to all. She was such a tiny thing, but very mighty. She was so funny to talk to and had the cutest laugh. She will be greatly missed by all.
What an amazing Mom and person she was! With a smile that lit up the room! Some of my favorite childhood memories are of hanging out with my buddy Jeff at his house, and Evelyn was always the best host. She treated me like one of her own children. She will be greatly missed!
Evelyn was the nicest person! I only knew her for 3 months when I worked at Corn State Laboratories summer of 1961. We both worked in the same office and would lunch together. She was so thrilled I was from Neola, Iowa and both of us went to St Joseph School. She was kind, funny, and always helpful! She was newly married and wanted a family so bad!!! Many prayers to her family. Ida Dargin Jessen.
