Everardo M. Garcia, Sr.

Everardo M. Garcia, Sr. (“Lalo”), age 86 of Lincoln, NE went home to be with the Lord on August 3, 2018. Everardo was born to Josefina (Maldonado) and Guadalupe Garcia in La Feria, TX. He was raised in Scotts Bluff, NE and did migrant work with his parents. Everardo married Julia DeLuna on April 26, 1951. He served in the Army during the Korean war from 1952 to 1955. He had a trucking business for many years and did farm work for many local farmers. He loved to garden and sold his produce to local grocers. In 2002 he relocated to Lincoln, NE to live with his daughter, Jesusa.
Everardo is survived by his children: Linda (Geno) Sharp, of St. Louis, MO, Sally (George) Wallace, of Lincoln, NE, Everardo D. Garcia Jr. (Christina) of Scottsbluff, NE, David D. (Violet) Garcia, of Omaha, NE, and Jesusa D. Garcia of Lincoln, NE; 11 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews; sister: Irma (Timothy) Martin, of Atlanta, GA; Eliazar (Oralia) Garcia of Chicago Heights, IL.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Julia DeLuna Garcia; daughter, Erminia DeLuna Garcia; parents, Guadalupe and Josefina Garcia; sisters: Elida Lugo, Delia G. Perez, and Mary Lou Garcia.
All services will be held at Heafey-Hoffmann-Dworak-Cutler West Center Chapel, 7805 West Center Road, Omaha, NE. VISITATION: Thursday, August 9th from 5pm to 7pm, followed by VIGIL SERVICE at 7pm. FUNERAL SERVICE: Friday, August 10th at 1pm. Interment with military honors: St. Mary Magdalene Cemetery, 5226 South 46th St., Omaha, NE. Military honors by Millard American Legion Post 374 & VFW Post 8334.
