EVERETT “BUZZ” MADSON, M.D. was born in Omaha May 8, 1944. He attended Benson High where he was on the football team and class president. Buzz was even tempered, a world traveler and hunter, a reader, hard worker and treasured by all who knew him. He proudly served as a Captain in the Army Reserve Medical Corps.

Dear Percy and Family, I was so sad to hear about Buzz’s passing. As a fellow classmate, I have appreciated what a wonderful person he has always been, not only at Benson but throughout his life. He, and you, have always supported our class all these years, and I truly appreciate what you both have done for us. He will truly be missed by not just me, but by us all.
Rosemary Murphy Lane, Class of 1962
Dr. Madson was an outstanding healer. I was blessed to receive his care through out my life and am able to see this and write this due to his mindful attention.. He made the world a better place. I am sorry he went so soon, but left you, his family, as an outstanding legacy. I send my condolences to you.
Buzz was one of the few upperclassmen I idolized after coming to Benson in 1960. Tremendously accomplished, personable, athletic, and accessible to those coming up after him. I followed his illustrious career through the years and he lived the life of service for which he was destined. Consolences to Percy and the entire family. Sincerely, Paul Critchlow

Dr. Madson, thank you for taking good care of my eyes and my dad’s eyes.
You will be missed by me & many others that you have cared for. Rest in Peace..
Always a nice guy! I’ve had the chance to be on. a few adventures with him, and the opportunity to provide some anesthesia for him. His skills and dedication to his patients were always foremost. RIP Buzz.
I only learned of Buzz’s death on July 4. I first met Buzz in 1974, in Iowa City, I was a senior in college and housesat for the Madson’s while Buzz did a several month eye rotation in Phoenix. We would talk from time to time through the years and most recently even more so while I worked in Omaha. Buzz had some great stories about high school football but most importantly I learned more and more about his kindness to others, his devotion to his family and his patients and his always-pleasant demeanor. Patti and I send our condolences to the entire Madson family.
