RHOADES, Fern M. Apr 9, 1913 Jul 6, 2013 Preceded in death by parents, Sigart and Anna Anderson; husbands, Dr. Norman Rathmann and J. Hilton Rhoades; brothers, Merwin and Vernon. Survived by daughter, Kay Hofmann; grandson, Mark Hofmann (Adam Ciejek); brother, Erwin Anderson; stepchildren, Kenneth Rhoades (Virginia) and Charlotte Glinski; step-grandchildren; step-great-grandchildren; step-great-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. A 1931 graduate of Lyons High School, Fern went on to graduate from Wayne State College in Wayne, NE and Midland College in Fremont, NE. For 35 years she taught school in Hooper, Albion, Fremont and Blair. A member of First United Methodist Church in Blair, she was active with United Methodist Women, P.E.O., Bridge Club and A.A.U.W. She was also a member of the Blair Hospital Auxiliary and was actively involved with numerous Humane Societies. She enjoyed traveling and gardening, and loved beautiful flowers. The family will receive friends Wednesday, July 10th from 6pm to 8pm at the West Center Chapel. SERVICES Thursday, July 11th at 11am, First United Methodist Church in Blair, NE. Graveside Service and Interment Thursday, 2:30pm, Hollst Lawn Cemetery in Yutan, NE. Memorials are suggested to Nebraska Humane Society.
