Frances enjoyed a happy childhood surrounded by loving family and friends. When Fran was 14 years old, her mother passed away.  Making the best of things, with the help of the nuns at Cathedral, she assisted her father in raising her younger siblings. Fran graduated from Cathedral High School in Omaha in 1955. After high school, she worked at Mutual of Omaha and attended Creighton University until she was married. Fran was married to Raymond Patrick “Pat” White on September 6, 1958. They celebrated their happy and loving marriage until his death in 2015. Pat and Fran were longstanding members of St Robert Bellarmine Church, where their children attended school. Fran was a stay-at-home mother raising 6 kids, and a caregiver to her father and father-in-law. After her children were grown, Fran enrolled at the University of Nebraska-Omaha and began attending classes, some of them with her own children.  While attending classes, she worked at Eastern Nebraska Human Service Agency.  Fran left ENSHA to take a position at the Post Office, where she retired in 2002.  Fran enjoyed her retirement going to movies, traveling, and spending time with Pat.

Fran took pleasure in many pastimes and had an avid passion for gardening. She was a member of Highland Park Garden Club.  She had a fondness for playing card games and maintained a bridge group with friends and relatives for many years. Fran loved hosting parties and welcomed all into her home with open arms.  Fran and Pat often traveled to visit their siblings, children and grandchildren.  She enjoyed shopping trips with family. She was a loving mother and doting grandmother who appreciated nothing more than to share photos and accomplishments of her kids and grandkids.  Although we lost her to the darkness of Alzheimer’s, she will always shine a light on our hearts and souls.

She was an amazingly beautiful woman. I loved how sentimental she was and how she listened so well to children. Her attention was always genuine. She was a favorite of mine and all my brothers and sisters.

Aunt Fran had the most beautiful smile. It was a joy to be around her. We took many trips back to Nebraska to visit family. Aunt Fran and Uncle Pat’s was always a wonderful place to visit. Sending love and prayers that all the happy memories can heal some of the pain and sadness.
