Weathers, Francis, “Frank” A., Age 92, He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Delores M. (Capazo) Weathers: sons, Thomas Weathers and Robert Weathers; parents, Mary Rose (Curtin) Raymond Weathers; sister, Mary Huber; brother, Leo Weathers.

He is survived by his daughter, Mary (Jim) Boyle; daughter-in-law, Julie Roh Weathers; 10 grandchildren: Alexandria, Sam, Elsie (Ross) Harding, Lily, Jack, Emery, Ryan (Araceli), Chelsey (Layne) Krahn, Nathan (Jill), Sallie; 6 great-grandchildren: Magdalena, Analiese, Julian, Marnie, Hattie and Vincent; many nieces and nephews, relatives, and friends.

Frank was born June 30, 1931, on the family farm near Anthon, Iowa to Rose and Raymond Weathers. He attended grade school and high school in Anthon and went onto attend Creighton University where he received a Bachelor of Science in Commerce in 1953. Frank was also a member of the Alpha Phi Omega National Service Fraternity. Frank went onto to attend Omaha University and received a master’s degree in Sociology the following year in 1954.

In 1953, he met the love of his life on a blind date, Delores Capazo. They married in 1954 and lived in Omaha until 1955 when he enlisted in the Army. Frank served during the Korean War stateside where he and Delores were stationed in Colorado, Missouri, and Texas. In 1958 they returned to Omaha to start a family and raised three children.

A lifelong learner, he earned a teaching certificate and taught at Creighton Prep for a couple of years before beginning his lifelong career in insurance with State Farm and the United States Postal Service. He loved his faith, family and his St. Louis Cardinals baseball and loved cheering on his beloved Creighton Bluejays! He was long-time parishioner of Mary Our Queen Catholic Church and usher for 5 pm Mass.

Frank and Delores were married for 53 years until her passing in 2007. In his later years he was able to travel and visited all 50 states and saw a couple of baseball games! Frank loved spending time with his grandchildren and great children and family. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle, brother, friend and will be remembered for his kind, sweet and gentle way. He will be dearly missed! Well done, now is your time rest!

Visitation:  June 14, 2024, 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Mary Our Queen Catholic Church, 3405 South 118th St. followed by a Vigil with Rosary at 7:00 pm.
Mass of Christian Burial Saturday:  June 15, 2024, 10:00 am, Mary Our Queen Catholic Church.
Entombment Calvary Mausoleum, Military rites by American Legion Post #2.
Memorials are suggested to Mary Our Queen Church or Catholic Charities of Omaha.

    Our condolences to the whole family. “Mr Weathers” was always a kind & gentle man of faith in the neighborhood.and I don’t know of a single person who didn’t like him. May God comfort all who mourn and welcome him into His Kingdom with the words we all long to hear:. “Well done, good & faithful servant…enter into the joy of your Master.”
