Frank L. Sorensen
January 24, 1929 – August 21, 2020
Frank Lee Sorensen, 91, of Omaha passed away on August 21, 2020.
Frank was born and raised in Omaha on January 24, 1929 to Anton and Mary Sorensen. He was the youngest of five boys. On May 13, 1950 Frank married Fannie Sortino and together they raised three children: Kathleen (1954 – 2011), Sherri (1959), and Steven (1961).
Frank enlisted in the United States Army in February 1951 and proudly served in infantry in the Korean War. He retired from active duty to reservist in October 1953 and was awarded the Korean Service medal with three Bronze Campaign Stars: Combat Infantry Badge, United Nation Service Medal, and National Defense Service Medal.
Known to many as Lee, he was a skilled artist, carpenter, and gardener. Lee was always tinkering with something.
Preceded in death by daughter, Kathleen Olin. Frank is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Fannie Sorensen; daughter, Sherri Pallas (John); son, Steve Sorensen (LaNaya); seven grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren with one more arriving January 2021.
The family will receive friends (observing CDC guidelines) on Tuesday, August 25th from 5pm to 7pm at the West Center Chapel, with VIGIL SERVICE at 7pm. PRIVATE FAMILY SERVICE: Wednesday, 10am, West Center Chapel. Interment, Holy Sepulchre Cemetery with military honors. Memorials will be directed by the family.
