Gene Miller was a retired engineer, having been employed by both the District 66 School System and Aksarben.  He joined the Miller Family when, as a one year old, he was hand-picked by our parents from the Omaha Child Savings Institute to join a brother, Robert, who was age 2.  His sister, Marylyn, was born a year later.

Gene graduated from Sheldon, Missouri High School in 1953.  He married Phyllis (who already had the Miller family name) on April 5, 1958.  They were blessed with four children: Debi, lives in Redmond, Washington; Gene, Jr., (Sandy) is from Omaha; Kathy Thilking (Dale), who lives near Kansas City, MO; and Jeff, who is in Omaha.  Gene especially loved his grandchildren and great-grands and enjoyed spending as much time as possible with them.  Another special part of Gene’s life was his lap-size dog, Holly.  Honoring Gene’s wishes, Holly’s ashes will be buried with him.  Gene was blessed with a social personality and left many, many friends.
