Gene Allen Searcey

SEARCEY, Gene Allen, Feb 15, 1939 – May 3, 2010. Gene Allen Searcey passed away in Phoenix, AZ at the age of 71. Gene was born in Liberty, NE to Hardin and Myrtle (Pyle) Searcey. He was the youngest of three boys. After serving in the Army for four years and then graduating from Doane College in Crete, NE, where he was a member of the Delta Kappa Pi Fraternity, Gene spent his life in Lincoln, Omaha and Denver before moving to Phoenix in 1998. Gene was a father and a very proud grandfather. He is survived by his son, John Searcey and wife Phoebe and their children, Wyatt and Spencer of Denver; two daughters: Susan Rammage and husband Lee and their children Jessica, Alexandria and Luke of Olathe, KS, Shelly Fischer and husband Dan and their children Jacob and Katie of Kansas City, MO. Gene is also survived by his wife, Jan Wallen and her three children: Pamela Lynch and husband Dennis and their children Eavan and Kieran, Douglas Wallen and wife Gina and their children Gabriela and Garrett, Stefani Wallen–Smith and husband Mike and their daughter Sofie, all of Phoenix, AZ. Although he has gone, those who knew him well will remember Gene’s kind heart, love of a good joke, good card games and great food. He brought many memories of laughter and happy times with friends and family. He will be greatly missed. GRAVESIDE SERVICE Saturday, May 29, 11:45am at Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery with military rites by Millard American Legion Post 374 and VFW Post 8334. Luncheon to follow at the Regency Lodge at 12:30pm.
