Gene K. Van Pelt

Van Pelt, Gene K. Jul 26, 1925 – Jan 5, 2014 Died unexpectedly at Alegent Lakeside Hospital. He served in the U. S. Navy during World War II. Upon graduation from Bradley University in Peoria, Illinois, he began a 42-year career with McKesson Drug Co., holding several positions around the country, his longest tenure being in Rapid City, South Dakota. After retirement, with his strong work ethic he kept busy at Kohlls Pharmacy, Rosenblatt Stadium, Qwest Center and the Ralston Arena. He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 sisters, one brother and his son. He is survived by his wife, Audrey Van Pelt; daughters: Paula Buzzell (Myrle), Linda Carr (Michael), and Laura Peschong (Brad); 6 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and sister-in-law. MEMORIAL SERVICE Friday, January 10th at 1pm at Countryside Community Church, 8787 Pacific, followed by a light reception in the church Coffeehouse. Memorials are suggested to McKesson Foundation Pharmacy Scholarship Program.
