Gene L. Miller

Gene L. Miller

April 29, 1942 – November 4, 2020

Preceded in death by parents, Roy and Viola Miller; stepfather, Edgar Johnson; and sister, Vivian Elliott.  Survived by his wife of 58 years, Dee Miller; son, Shawn (Maureen) Miller; daughter, Jodi (Brad) Holen; grandchildren: Brittany Holen, Morgan Holen, Joshua Miller and Shayla Miller; brother Norman Miller and many other friends and relatives.

Gene grew up in Mitchell, NE and attended the University of Nebraska in Lincoln where he majored in Accounting and ultimately became a CPA.  Gene and Dee lived in several locations during their many happy years together, but spent the most time in Blair, NE; Columbus, NE and Omaha, NE, and made great friends at each stop along the way.

Gene was passionate about many things including Husker sports, golf, pool and playing the guitar; but he was most passionate about spending time with family and friends.  He rarely missed a sporting event, recital, pageant or any other activity involving one of his grandkids, and there were many.

Memorials in Gene’s name can be made to the American Heart Association.  A celebration of Gene’s life will be held at a later date.
