George “Felix” Johnson
July 26, 1952 – September 21, 2023
George “Felix” Johnson passed into eternity on September 21, 2023. He was born to Col. George Howard Johnson and Shirley Mae on July 26, 1952 at Travis Air Force Base in California. Growing up as the son of a military officer, George cultivated a deep respect for those that served our nation and an interest in military aviation. Upon graduation from Bellevue High in 1971, he settled in the Omaha area and shortly thereafter, started his life-long career at UPS. Even in his retirement, George continued to transport packages working for a medical delivery service around town. When health and time allowed, George enjoyed playing a round of golf or a game of softball. He also took pleasure in woodworking, listening to Blues, watching Husker football and going out for breakfast. George was a humble, encouraging, and affectionate husband, father, and brother who will be missed by many.
George is survived by his devoted wife, Nancy, and his children: Geoff Johnson (wife: Anne, children: Avery, Norah), Jennifer McShea (husband: Brandon, children: Isabelle, Collins, Eli, Adalynn, Lily), and Jillian Canick (husband: Jon, child: Jacob); his stepchildren: Jeff Ritonya (wife: Megan, children: Cassidy, Olivia) and Jennifer Ritonya (children: Ethan, Eric, Harrison, Emma); faithful sisters: Wendy Eveland, Terry Jo Wing, and Deborah Desilets (Gary) and former stepdaughter Alexis (Cheney) Kovalovich; many nieces, nephews, and beloved cousins.

My heart felt condolences to Nancy and his whole family. George was one of the finest people I ever had the privilege to work with at UPS. He will be missed by all who knew him well.
Prayers to those left behind, and guidance through this difficult time. George was most definitely one of the nicest guys I have had the privilege of working for at UPS….Rest in peace buddy.
We have been neighbors with George and Nancy for over 17 years. We have rarely met a gentler soul and genuinely wonderful friend and neighbor. We will truly miss talking to George in our back yards. Our deepest sympathy to Nancy and family for the loss of a great man. Our prayers are with you and your family.
I am so sad at the passing of my Uncle George. I always enjoyed my time with him . I loved hearing stories about living in different places when Grandpa was stationed somewhere new in the Air Force. He also had some pretty funny reccolections of growning up the only boy with 3 sisters. My Mom (Wendy) always loved sharing what a good sport her little brother was when it came to girl stuff they would put him through. His Donald Duck impression was also one of the best! It would make me laugh endlessly.
My love goes out to Nancy and my dear cousins Geoff, Jennifer and Jillian (and Lexi) who lost their beloved Dad and Bonus Dad. I am sending you all hugs from Idaho. Love you.
My heart is broken. I have known George since we attended Bellevue High School and later working for UPS. My condolences to the family, his precious children and grandchildren.
George and I met in 1977 when had UPS delivery areas next to each other. Good friends. Good memories. We attended the 1978 Cotton Bowl together to watch our Huskers. They lost, but good times. God Bless George. Prayers to his Family.
