George L. Jones
July 11, 1941 – June 18, 2024
Beloved friend and mentor, passed away peacefully at home on June 18, 2024.
George was born on July 11, 1941 to Lester and Mary (Kelly) Jones in Ulysses, Ne. He was raised in David City, Nebraska, graduating from St. Mary’s High School. Then he moved to Lincoln, Nebraska and attended the University of Nebraska then relocating to Omaha, Nebraska, graduating from Bellevue University with a degree in Psychology.
He held many positions including working with the National Guard, Precision Bearings, a counselor at Nebraska Psychiatric, and an Antique Dealer. George belonged to a Real Estate Club, was the leader of a Grief Support Group and volunteered for Hospice. He enjoyed Corvette Cars, imparting knowledge, refinishing furniture, wood carving and collecting.
George was a man of many talents and lead a rich and full life. He will be missed by his many friends.
Preceded in death by his parents, brothers, William and Russell Jones; wife, Margaret “Peg” Jones.
Survived by wife, Kathy Mosiman-Jones; sister, Carol Jones-Meysenburg; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Russel and Monia Bennett; dear friend, Paterick Meysenburg; numerous nieces and nephews.
Celebration of Life Gathering: Sunday, June 23rd from 3:00PM-5:00PM at West Center Chapel.
