Gerald D. Slotten passed away September 16th, 2024, in Elkhorn, Nebraska, due to complications from lung cancer, with his family by his side.

Gerald was born December 23, 1936, in Slifer, Iowa, to Alice & Norman Slotten. He graduated from Otho High School in 1954 and married the love of his life Sharon Ball in Fort Dodge, Iowa in 1955. Together they had four children, Lana Marie, Tamara Kay, Marilee Ann, and Jerry Alan.

He was a mechanic most of his life and worked for United Parcel Service for 30 years. He started in Fort Dodge, Iowa, moving to Grand Island, NE in 1971, Denver, CO 1973, then to Omaha. He retired in 1997. He had a love for drag racing, before and after retirement and had several race cars over the years.

Survivors include his wife, Sharon; daughter, Tamara Petersen of Grand Island, NE, and son Jerry Slotten of Omaha; nine grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren, and five great- great grandchildren.

Gerald was preceded in death by his parents; two daughters Lana and Marilee; sister, Eula Jean Stanberg;  brother, Orville Slotten and two grandchildren, Makenna Bolanos and Tyler Godsey.

INTERMENT:  A private family burial is planned for a later date

    My condolences, Gerald will always be in my prayers, I worked with him at the Omaha UPS shop. He was a great boss, He will be missed.
