Gerald Francis Reinke

Gerald Francis Reinke

July 27, 1950 – May 15, 2025

Gerald “Jerry” Francis Reinke, age 74, of Omaha, NE, passed away on May 15, 2025.

Jerry was born on July 27, 1950, in Larchwood, IA. He attended St. Mary’s Catholic School and graduated in 1968. He went on to earn a degree in Business from the University of South Dakota at Springfield.

Jerry is survived by his dear wife of 53 years, Rosie; their four children: Jennifer King (Kevin), Michelle “Shelly” Tresemer (Josh), Ryan Reinke, and Chris Reinke (Abby); and 14 cherished grandchildren: Matthew, Abby, Ramon, Angelo, Maggie, Colin, Bridget, Nathaniel, Taylor, Mason, Jameson, Lexi, Liv, and Madilyn.

He is also survived by his siblings: Tom (Nancy) Reinke and Ty (Lavonne) Reinke of Larchwood, IA; Nance (Keith) Bierle of Sioux Falls, SD; and Judy (John) Anderson of Hudson, SD. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harvey and Mary Reinke of Larchwood, IA, and his sister, Elaine Reinke of Sioux Falls, SD.

Jerry dedicated 40 years of service to the phone company before retiring in 2004. After retirement, he founded A&M Appraisals, where he worked until fully retiring in 2017.

A devoted husband, dad, papa, and friend, Jerry found his greatest joy in supporting his family—especially cheering on his kids and grandkids in sports and school events. He loved coaching baseball, softball, and basketball and was always present for his family’s milestones. His support, encouragement, and presence made a lasting impact on each of them.  He and Rosie enjoyed traveling to the Caribbean, attending the St. Louis Cardinals baseball games, College World Series baseball games, Creighton Bluejay basketball games, and spending time at the lake. He also loved family wiffle ball games in the backyard, creating memories filled with laughter, healthy competition, and joy.

Jerry was certainly one of a kind and incredibly kind and loving, and proud of his big family. He was the best Dad and Papa, and his loss leaves a profound void in the lives of those who knew and loved him. We take comfort in knowing we have an amazing angel watching over us.  He leaves behind a legacy of dedication, joy, and countless treasured memories.

Rosie & family- Sending our deepest condolences and big bear hugs your way as you navigate everything! Jerry was so kind! Always offering help when we needed & dragging our beach just because. We’re sure going to miss his laugh & seeing him bobbing on a float, tethered up to the stump, with a cold beverage in his hand!
