Gerald G. Kalina

March 8, 1941 – August 24, 2023

Gerald G. “Jerry” Kalina passed away on August 24, 2023. Jerry graduated from Wayne State College. He retired from Engineering at Lucent Technologies, and then owned Wood Specialties of Nebraska; making grade stakes for surveyors until 2019. He enjoyed Sprint Car Nationals in Iowa and went to Australia to see their Sprint Car Nationals. He loved watching NASCAR and drove many NASCAR tracks, the last being the Kansas City Speedway in 2015. In 2002 he began restoring and showing antique peddle cars in car shows.

Jerry was preceded in death by parents, Joseph Kalina and Anna Marie (Hrbacek) Kalina. He is survived by his son, Victor (Kalina) Longino; his long-time companion, Marilyn Kobjerowski; special friend, Tammy Dean; other relatives and friends.

Jerry was a donor for the Anatomical Board of Nebraska Medicine, as he arranged.

There will be a Celebration of Life for Jerry on October 8, 2023, 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the West Center Chapel, 7805 W. Center Rd.
