Geraldine Marie “Jerry” or “Jomarie” Herdzina
June 4, 1938 – July 30, 2022
Jerry passed away peacefully after a battle with lymphoma on July 30, 2022. She was ready to eternally be with and honor Our Lord. She was 84 years old.
Jerry is survived by her sister, JoAnn Bozak (John L.); brother, John W. Herdzina (Jacque); nieces and nephews: Reid Bozak (Shelli), Brayden Bozak, Reese Bozak, Cyndi Koll (Dave), Colton Wieck, Connor Wieck (Madison), Cylie Wieck, Chloe Wieck, Grant Herdzina, Joel Herdzina (godson), and Gabrielle Herdzina.
Jerry attended Creighton University and then went on to pursue her religious vocation and dedicate her life to God. Jerry entered the convent of the Sisters of Saint Francis and was a graduate of Alverno College in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and later earned a Masters degree from Fordham University in New York City. She became a Catholic Franciscan Sister (nun) and worked educating children for about 18 years. Thereafter, Jerry continued assisting others and became a funeral director, working in California.
VISITATION WITH PRAYER SERVICE begins on Tuesday, August 9th at 5pm at Christ the King Catholic Church, 654 S. 86th St. Burial services will be private. Memorials are suggested to Christ the King Catholic Church or charity of your choice.

I am sorry for for your loss. I too have lost a good friend. We enjoyed laughing together whenever we were together and I will miss her forever.
As a Mercy High School classmate of Jerrie’s , I was saddened to read of her suffering and death. She was always a happy, cheerful girl .
