Geri Lynn (Dasovich) Scarpello
April 2, 1964 – October 23, 2019
Preceded in death by her twin sister, Teri Lea Dasovich; parents, Frank and Patricia Dasovich; stepmother, Carol Henderson. Survived by husband, Rick Scarpello; children, Maria (Brian Devine) and Gina Scarpello; stepfather, Jack Henderson; sisters: Gayla Dasovich (Boyd Lindquist), Lisa Bennett (Michael), Gina Gould (Jay), and Nicole Hanratty; brother, Michael Dasovich; as well as several cousins, nieces, nephews and beloved dog, Kobe.
Born in Escondido, California, Geri graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1982. She worked at Horseman’s Park where she was a devoted employee for 17 years. Geri was passionate about animals, loved traveling with her husband, hunting, fishing and being with her family.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 29th, from 5pm to 7pm at the West Center Chapel, followed by PRAYER SERVICE at 7pm. Funeral: Wednesday, October 30th, at 10:30am at the West Center Chapel. Entombment: Resurrection Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Nebraska Humane Society; Twinless Twins Support Group International; or the Open Door Mission.

Dear Rick & family, I am so saddened to hear of Geri’s passing. We had stayed in touch all these years since I taught and coached her at Longfellow Jr, High in the mid 70’s. Both she and Teri were outstanding athletes and more importantly, outstanding people! You’re all in my thoughts and prayers during this difficult loss.

I am so sorry to hear about the passing of Geri. This was such a shock to hear. I worked with her at HP for years and she is truly a great person. Always there for you when you needed her.

So sorry to hear about Geri. The Dasovich girls were admired by many in the Co. Bluffs community. Their beauty, charmed personalities, and athletic ability of both of them was immeasurable. I hope you can find comfort in knowing that she was loved by so many. May she rest in peace as she joins others that have gone way too soon. To the Scarpello Family, I ran the information window at Horseman’s Park from the 1st day in 1999 until November 2015. I visited with Geri almost every day. She was a great person! This loss is a terrible tragedy. My thought and prayers are with all of her family at this most difficult time.

So very sorry for your loss. As an underclassmen at TJ I was in awe of both Geri and Teri on the volleyball court. She was a genuinely kind person. My condolences to the Dasovich and Scarpello families.
