Gerry L. Guest

Gerry L. Guest

October 15, 1958-September 18, 2024

Gerry Lewis Guest, lovingly known as “Boo” and respected by many as “Boo Gotti.” Gerry was the fourth child born to Edwina Yvonne Warrior (Pug) of Pierce, Oklahoma, and Carl Otis Guest (Bo) of Checotah, Oklahoma, on October 15, 1958, in Topeka, Kansas. Surrounded by loving family and friends, Gerry Lewis peacefully departed this life on Wednesday, September 18, 2024. Gerry was preceded in death by his parents; brothers: Marvin T, Larry W. and Ronnie Eugene Guest.

Gerry lived in Wichita, Kansas, and Checotah, Oklahoma, before settling down in Omaha, Nebraska. Gerry graduated from Omaha’s own Benson High School in 1977. He also attended Technical High School, where he lettered in Varsity Football and won awards for outstanding Basketball achievements. It was here under the guidance of his devout parents that Gerry began attending Mt. Sinai Church. Later in life he united with St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church.

Gerry was a true hustler in every sense of the word. Gerry often worked as a concrete construction worker and detailed cars. Gerry was considered by many, one of the best detailers in the city, however, when it came to buffing a car, he was hands down, THE BEST. Oftentimes, he would do construction by day and detail cars at night. Gerry was an exceptional dresser, usually styling himself with freshly starched clothes and a hairdo fresh out of the chair. If you asked him, he was always the flyest in the room. Gerry was known to be quite charming. His charisma, coupled with his dazzling smile and big personality, made him quite the ladies’ man. Gerry was an avid fan of any sport, but nothing was better than Oklahoma Sooner games on Saturdays.

Gerry leaves behind to mourn: six children: Kirk, of Omaha, Terrell, of Omaha, Charmane (James) Guest, of Omaha, DaSheda (Darien) Kennedy, of Omaha, Seanna Clemmons, of Omaha, Audry Woods, of Omaha; two sisters, Debra Guest, of Oklahoma, Shawna Guest, of Omaha; ten grandchildren: Hailey, Haiden, Darren,  AMiri, Alara, Aaryn, Prince, Brentton, Brendan, and Traeh.

Those I Love and Those Who Love Me

When I am gone, release me, let me go

I have so many things to see and do

You must not tie yourself to me with tears

Be happy that I have had so many years

I gave you my love, you can only guess

How much you gave me in happiness

I thank you for the love each have shown

But now it is time I travelled on alone

So grieve a while for me, if grieve you must

Then let your grief be comforted by trust

It is only for a while that we must part

So bless the memories in your heart

I will not be far away, for life goes on

So if you need me, call and I will come

Though you cannot see or touch me, I will be near

And if you listen with your heart, you will hear

All of my love around you soft and clear

Then, when you must come this way alone

I will greet you with a smile and welcome you home.
