Houlihan, Gertrude E. Trudy, Jul 28, 1923 Nov 25, 2009. Mother of John P. Houlihan and Debbie Wiater. Originally from New York, Trudy spent her last remaining years close to daughter Debbie in Fairfax, VA. She lived her life by the principles of hard work, inner strength and family values, and treated everyone she encountered with respect and affection. Trudy loved being a devoted wife, mother, sister and friend. She loved and cherished her family. Her 9 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren brought a lot of joy and love to her life. Preceded in death by husband, John A. Houlihan; sister, Edna Harmke; brother, Jack Bradbury; son-in-law, Paul Wiater. Survived by son, John P. Houlihan and former wife, Anne, and their children: Alison Lanning and husband Chad of Grafton, WI, Laura McElligott and husband Mark, John J. Houlihan III and wife Maureen, all of Omaha, Brad Houlihan and wife Yvette of Laguna Vista, TX, Brian Houlihan of San Jose, Costa Rica, Elizabeth Burke and husband John, Kelly Heithoff and husband Aaron, all of Omaha; daughter, Deborah Wiater of Fairfax, VA, and her children: Jennifer Wiater of Des Moines, IA, Scott Wiater and wife Erin of Pasadena, MD; great-grandchildren: Molly Lanning, Lauren Lanning, Andrew Lanning, Maggie McElligott, Sean McElligott, John Joseph Houlihan IV, Henry Houlihan, James Houlihan, Alexis, Greg and Isabella Houlihan, and Justin Wiater (serving in US Navy).
