Gertrude Ann Hatcher age, 105 of Missouri Valley, Iowa passed away Monday, October 14, 2013 at Longview Care Center in Missouri Valley, Iowa. Gertrude was born May 18, 1908 to Nereus Alan and Mary Magdalene (Cornelison) Van Cleave in Council Bluffs, Iowa. Gertrude married Harold L. Hatcher April 22, 1929 in Council Bluffs, Iowa. Harold passed away May 25, 1980. Gertrude lived in Missouri Valley for eighty-five years and she loved sewing, baking, flowers and loved her family very much. Preceded in death by: parents, husband, son-in-law; Sonny McElderry; brothers: Harold and Johnny Van Cleave and sister: Bessie Wiscup. Survivors include her daughter: Norma Jean McElderry Wood and husband Howard of Missouri Valley, Iowa, grandchildren: Gary McElderry and wife Ellen of Gladstone, Missouri; Jeffrey McElderry and wife Kari of Omaha, Nebraska; Debra McElderry and Susan Fountain and husband Terry both of Missouri Valley, Iowa; great grandchildren: Ryan McElderry and wife Kate of Lenexa, Kansas; Megan McElderry of Sydney, Australia; Kyle McElderry and wife Leah of Menasha, Wisconsin; Nic Bertelsen and wife Tanya of Missouri Valley, Iowa; Jeanna McElderry, Laura McElderry of Council Bluffs, Iowa, Zachary Fountain of Missouri Valley, Iowa; ten great great grandchildren: Ethan and Eva Mc Elderry, Ayden Bertelsen, Kingston and Adler McElderry, Damien, David, Dalton, Dayton Conant, Courtney Barrientine. Visitation with the family will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Sunday at the Hennessey Funeral Home in Missouri Valley, Iowa. The family would like to invite everyone to a time of lunch and fellowship to the Methodist Church Monday at 11:30 after the burial.
