Gilbert Molacek

February 1, 1925 – January 16, 2019

Preceded in death by stepdaughter, Pam Dedinsky; brothers: James Jr., Lumir, and Edwin Molacek; sisters, Marcella Molacek and Helen (Wendilin) Dirkschneider.

Survived by wife, Nelda; stepchildren: Jayne Westering (William), Jackie Loseke (Don), Penny Kampschneider, Kent Uphoff (Dorothy), Anthony Uphoff (Jamie); 23 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; son-in-law, Greg Dedinsky; sisters: Ludmilla Kracel, Marlene Gray, and Camilla Steinberger; many nieces and nephews.

Gilbert was an accomplished woodworker, making hundreds of toys which he donated to children.  For more than 20 years, Gilbert and his wife, Nelda, attended the 7am daily Mass at Boys Town, where Gilbert served as an usher, server and an EMC.

VIGIL SERVICE:  Wednesday, January 23rd at 7pm at the West Center Chapel, with family receiving friends from 5pm to 7pm.  MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL: Thursday, January 24th at 10:30am at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 14330 Eagle Run Drive.  Interment: Calvary Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to Boys Town or St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church.
