Mary Lou (Steenson) Gilroy Jul 22, 1925 – Sep 16, 2016 Mary Lou passed peacefully at home on September 16th at 9:40pm, surrounded by her family at the time of her death. On her last day on earth, her home was filled with family and friends just as it always was during her 91 beautiful years. Mary Lou was preceded in death by her parents, Andrew and Lucile Steenson; husband, Michael Gilroy; son, Tom Gilroy; daughter, Fran Gilroy; sister and brother-in-law, Claire and Dan O’Connell; brothers and sisters-in-law, Tom and Daisy Steenson, Jerry and Helen Steenson, Jack and Rita Steenson; sisters-in-law and spouses: Betty and Dave Mansell, Pauline and Roy Wilger, Anne and Paul Jones, and Kay Burke; brothers-in-law, Thomas Gilroy and Peter Gilroy; sister-in-law, Jane Gilroy. Mary Lou is survived by her children: John and Cindy Gilroy, Patty and Bob Franzese, Mary and Jim Canarsky, Joan and Harold Tu, Helen Gilroy, Suzy Gilroy, and Jim Gilroy; grandchildren: Amy and Wayne Knight, Tyson Gilroy, Chelsea and Jeff Gordon, Bob Franzese, Ginny Franzese and Will Moulthrop, John and Sarah Franzese, Philip and Jackie Canarsky, Anna and David Handley, Elizabeth and Tyson Schroeckenthaler, Miriam Canarsky, Naomi and Will Carter, Paul Canarsky, Mary Leah Canarsky, James Canarsky and Nathan Canarsky, Shannon Gilroy, Heather and Ian Morrison, Sarah Howdle, Katie Swett, Jessica Bosiljevac, Garrett Ray, Samantha Ray, Ryan and Amanda Miller, Andrew and Alejandra Miller; great-grandchildren: Madelyn, Emmett, Cooper, Kailyn, Laila, Jack, Luke, Reece, Carter, Mila, Sarah, Gabriel, Daniel, Jonathan, Elianna, Rowan, Kellen, Soren, Livingston, Daphne, Edith, Ella, Owen, Caleb, Connor, Zayna, Ameliya, Ayla, Kaya, Zoe, Cole, Andres, and Cash; brothers-in-law and spouses, Jim and Faith Gilroy, Eddie and Judith Gilroy; sister-in-law, Alcira Steenson; brother-in-law, John Burke; many cousins, nieces, nephews, dear friends, and her Red Hat Ladies who were all special to her. The family will receive friends Monday, September 19th, from 5pm to 7pm, with VIGIL SERVICE at 7pm, all at the Bel Air Chapel, 12100 W. Center Rd. MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL Tuesday, September 20th at 10am at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church. Interment, Calvary Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to St. Joan of Arc School.
