Gina Marie (Zaner) Semin

December 25, 1965 – September 30, 2021

Gina Marie (Zaner) Semin was called to Heaven on September 30, 2021, while surrounded by family and friends after a courageous battle with cancer.

Gina was born on December 25, 1965, in Kansas City, Kansas.  Her parents were Dominick “Don” and Eva “Fran” (Morgan) Zaner.  She was raised in Kansas City, Missouri, and graduated from St. Pius X.  She attended Creighton University and graduated in May of 1989 with a Registered Nursing degree.  She practiced as a nurse for many years in multiple hospitals in Omaha, Minneapolis, and Kansas City.

Gina loved being a mom to three boys and “Gigi” to two grandsons.  She treasured being a grandma and chased after her grandsons as much as possible.  She went on several different vacations with her family and friends, and really enjoyed going to Italy with two close friends.  She loved her pets, both cats and dogs, very much.  Her faith was of the upmost importance and she attended St. Stephen the Martyr Catholic Church for several years while living in Omaha.

Gina was preceded in death by her parents.  She is survived by her three sons: Frank (Julie), Jacob, and Paul; two grandsons, Joseph and Emmett; two brothers, Dan (Teresa) and Mark (Lisa); many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews; and numerous lifelong friends.

Family will receive friends Sunday, October 3rd from 5:30pm to 7pm at the West Center Chapel, followed by VIGIL SERVICE at 7pm.  MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL: Monday, Oct 4th at 10:30am at St. Stephen the Martyr Catholic Church, 16701 “S” Street.  Interment: Resurrection Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Siena/Francis House. Notes of condolences can be left on https://heafeyheafey.com/.

Gina, the little girl up the street on North Dawn Lane. Gina and her two brothers Mark and Dan carpooling to St. Therese Catholic School in Parkville. Don’t know how you all got into that little red Karmann Ghia. Still think of the Zaner family when I drive by. God Bless Gina and love to your family.
