Graham C. Whittington

Graham C. Whittington

June 3, 1994-October 15, 2024

Graham Carl Whittington was born June 3, 1994, in Omaha to Steven A. and Julie K. (nee Titze) Whittington. He passed away on October 15, 2024

Graham will be remembered as a compassionate, loyal, handsome and intelligent son, brother, family member, and friend, who could enthusiastically tell you every detail about the binoculars he used to birdwatch, the equipment he used for gaming, the constellations in the sky, the extensive gear he used to record and play music, and the intricacies of antique mahjong sets.

Graham enjoyed deep, philosophical conversation and the time and space to contemplate life’s mysteries. A constant seeker of truth and knowledge, he collected books on God, Tao, Mindfulness, and Buddhism. A man of many hobbies, from gastronomy and mixology to lock picking and drawing, he learned quickly and with great zeal, able to recall endless tidbits of insight and wisdom about his interests.

At times, Graham loved solitude and privacy — only after having secured a better secret stargazing location did he share his original first site with anyone. Equally, Graham loved and was energized by people and had a particular soft spot for wanderers and underdogs. Whether he connected to you in person or with his many online friends, Graham was always fast to share his quick wit and empathetic nature in his encounters with others. If he asked you how you were doing, he genuinely wanted to know, and would be there to listen to the good, bad and ugly.

He will be so deeply missed by not only by all those who knew him, but also by the many people who would have loved to know him but didn’t get the chance.

Graham is survived by his parents, Steven (Viktoriya Phillips) Whittington and Julie (Ralph Orsi) Whittington; sister, Emma E. Whittington; stepsister, Micaela Orsi; stepbrothers, David (Hope) Orsi and Evan Phillips; many aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family.

Graham was preceded in death by his grandparents, Wayne (late Betty) Whittington and Norbert (late LaVonne) Titze; aunt, Jane Cusson.

MEMORIAL SERVICE: Friday, October 25, 2024, at 10:00 AM at Rejoice Lutheran Church, 2556 S. 138th St, Omaha, NE 68144.

Hi, I’m Scott, a friend of Graham’s in the same circle as Tyler Kozisek and Morgan Runice. I cannot be there due to moving to California, but Graham was a very dear friend to me. I’m heartbroken for your family, his loved ones, and friends. You are all in my thoughts.

    With love,
    Scott Klusaw

My deepest condolences to the Whittington family. I’ll always cherish the memories of us playing video games until the early hours of the morning, hanging out, and having heart-to-heart conversations about whatever life threw at us. It’s hard to believe we won’t get to make new memories together. Rest easy, Graham. You will never be forgotten.

Our heart and prayers go out to you and your family Steve, and all those affected. Losing a child is one of the hardest things in life. I know that although he is now gone, that the good memories, the smiles, the laughter and the influence that he had on those in his life and throughout his life will be carried forward in a positive way because, that’s what we do as people. We touch each other on our journeys. Sometimes their journeys are shorter than ours. We don’t know the reason why, we just know that we are to carry forward the best of who they were in our lives forward. Much healing is to come and with some prayer and God’s grace all will get through. Again, I’m sorry for your loss – our prayers go out to you and your family. Michael & Christina
