Rita, and family….I’m so sorry to her of Grant’s unexpected passing. I have so many wonderful memories of him in my Christensen memories. He was a wonderful husband and father, and even though I did not know him in his role as grandfather, I’m sure he was awesome at it as well. He was a kind man who will be greatly missed. Your family is in my thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

I was saddened to hear of Grant’s passing and send condolences to his family. I worked with Grant at Physicians many years ago but remember Grant’s impish sense of humor and his gentle spirit like it was yesterday.

  • Bonnie Nelson Posted January 2, 2018 2:41 pm

So shocked to hear of Grant’s sudden passing. He always had a friendly smile and some type of humor to share. There is a somber hole left at Physicians Mutual with his absence. My prayers are with the entire family; everyone feeling the loss in his and her own way.

  • Leann Kardell Posted January 2, 2018 3:22 pm

I am so very sorry to hear of Grant passing away. He was one of the most genuinely nice people I know. Always made you smile, always a kind word to share. My prayers and thoughts are with his family. May they be comforted by their beautiful memories.

Rita and family, I also was fortunate to be able to get to know Grant while working at Physicians Mutual several years ago. I have been back a couple of times and touched base with him. For a while, we had a routine of getting together before the work day to share a coffee or pop and talk about family, work, current events, etc. Grant’s impish humor was a treat for all of us. I am sorry that he was taken so young and offer my prayers and condolences.

Rita and children you are in my family’s prayers. May you find comfort in this time. I was shocked to hear. In many ways Grant was a mentor to me in my years at Dana College. He would visit his brother Mike and me in our dorm room and quite honestly his guidance is how I chose my classes. He was a true leader and great person.

  • Flora Lewis Posted January 3, 2018 5:37 pm

To Rita and family, and all the Christensen men. I woke up this morning to read that Grant had been called Home. Our two families grew up together and those memories all came rushing back. We thank God that He shared Grant with all of us, even for a short time. Please accept my deepest sympathies and prayers.

Rita and Family, we here at United Way of the Midlands had the privilege of working with Grant as he has chaired the United Way Campaign at Physicians Mutual. He was such an advocate for others in need, and will be sorely missed by many.

  • Rozanne Mickey Posted January 4, 2018 9:31 am

Hannah, Thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Death of a family member is so hard especially an unexpected one. It does teach us to take each day with an open heart and make sure we tell those closest to us how much we love them and how important they are to us. Family is the most important thing in the world, the rest of life will take care of itself.
Rozanne Mickey (Corbin’s grandma) (Jaxon’s GG)

    Rita,
I worked with Grant for a couple of years at Physicians. We greatly admired him for what he did but also how he did it. He loved people and made sure everyone felt welcome including me. He is an inspiration of how to live and work well. He will be missed.
