I am so so sad to hear this. Gus played football for me at St. Peter Claver and was truly a joy to coach EVERYDAY. This kid was so special to me because he never made excuses and would always give you everything he had. He was so uplifting to everyone around him and was truly an inspiration to me. As hard as it is for me, I know it must be extremely tough on the family so I want you to know that you are in my thoughts and I am thankful that you shared him with me. GOD BLESS!!!

I am so sorry and so heartbroken to hear of Gus’s passing. My condolences to his family, friends, and loved ones. I have so many special memories with Gus from the Maple Street YMCA – I will cherish those forever.
Gus – you, your spirit, and your energy will forever be missed here on Earth. Thank you for always being authentically you, and for embodying and teaching so many of us at the Y the meanings of kindness, inclusion, and family. You never failed to make someone laugh, or to make them feel like they mattered. We were all lucky and blessed to experience you while you were here! You won’t be forgotten. Much love and light, and may you always Rest In Peace. Sending all my love and light to all of his loved ones as well.

My sincerest condolences to the Williams family. I am so sorry for the passing of little Gus. Connie had such a soft spot in her heart as she cared for him on his medical visits to the med center when he was little. She absolutely adored Gus Jr. Gus and Ann – I am sorry I cannot be there to attend the mass. You have such beautiful children and are wonderful parents. It broke my heart to hear the news. Please know you and Gus have been in my prayers during this time. Love always- John
