RICE-Gwendolyn Ann “Gwen,” age 79 years, Omaha, passed away peacefully in her home, fading like a flower in her garden. Loved ones shared her last days. Born June 22, 1927 to Charles and Cleo (Brigham) Harrison. After her mother’s death, Gwen was adopted by her uncle and aunt, Douglas and Gwendolyn (Brigham) White, who became her loving parents. Married November 22, 1948. Preceded in death by husband, of more than 50 years, Craig Scott Rice. Survived by daughters Kathy and Carol (Minneapolis), sons Doug (Atlanta) and Steve (Omaha), sons-in-law, J. Charles Strinz, John L. Murphy, and Michael J. Gallivan; grandchildren, Ava G. Murphy, Ian R. Murphy, William A. Strinz and Inga C. Strinz, and her cat, Bunyip. A ceremony will be held for family and friends at her home on June 24, 2007, from 10:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. A special thanks to friends and neighbors and all the staff at the Methodist Cancer Center.
