Harold E. Vonderfecht, D.V.M.
July 7, 1930 – October 5, 2018
Born in Madrid, NE on July 7, 1930, Harold graduated from North Platte High School in 1948. That same year he married Barbara Allen with whom he remained until her death in 2014. After farming for a few years, he attended Colorado State University and graduated from their School of Veterinary Medicine in 1962. He established a veterinary practice in Gothenburg, Nebraska, remaining there until 1974. Harold subsequently taught animal science at California State University and Kansas State University Veterinary School. Then, in 1977 he relocated to an acreage outside Plattsmouth, NE where he spent over 20 years working as an animal health consultant for pharmaceutical companies. This position involved extensive traveling throughout the United States, Europe, and Mexico. He continued ranching during this time and on into his retirement.
Harold was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara. He is survived by three sons: Dennis and Peggy Vonderfecht of Knoxville, TN, Dr. Steven and Carolyn Vonderfecht of Azusa, CA, and Dr. Douglas Vonderfecht and Dr. Jane Kugler of Omaha; seven grandchildren: Paul, Thomas, William, Tyson, Kevin, Jennifer, and Kristen; seven great-grandchildren: Caleb, Noah, Ben, Emma, Maggie, Luke, and Evelyn. Harold passed away peacefully on October 5, 2018. Private services will be held.

Thought of Harold and Barb as good friends,Helped them work cattle ,fix water lines,always had a great
time working with them and enjoyed all the stories.They will be missed by many.
