Harold Richard “Rich” Spencer, III

December 12, 1964 – July 31, 2018

Harold Richard “Rich” Spencer III died on July 31, 2018 in Omaha. Rich was born on December 12, 1964 in Lincoln.  In 1983, he graduated from Crete High School where his activities included wrestling and football.  He graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 1989, and that same year married Nancy Noland of Omaha.  Rich had a career in software design, and at the time of his death was lead software engineer at Infogroup.  He enjoyed many hobbies including gardening, cooking, gaming, and riding his motorcycle.

Rich was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Sydney.  He is survived by his wife, Nancy and daughters, Jessica and Samantha of Omaha; his father, Harold Richard Spencer II of Lincoln; mother, Janet Jeffries of Crete; sisters: Sibyl Spencer-Hilton and husband Russ of Omaha, Jane Spencer and husband Bob Peterson of Colorado, Laura Spencer of Crete, and Elizabeth Spencer of Lincoln; grandmother, Bernice Jeffries of Crete, sisters-in-law, Diana Hale and husband Brian of Arizona, and Sherri Igo and husband Don of Omaha; and several nieces and nephews.

A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held on Friday, August 10th at 12noon at the West Center Chapel, 7805 W. Center Rd.  The family will receive visitors from 10 am to 12noon prior to the service.  Memorials may be directed to the family for future designation to health care organizations that cared for Rich.

    I knew Rich from our time together at UNL. He always made me laugh and I have many great memories of him. I’m very sorry for your loss.
