Helen Hollenback

Hollenback, Helen (Ruth) April 21, 1924 – December 10, 2011 Preceded in death by parents, Carl F. and Gladys Hollenback; aunt, Loretta Dilger; and sister, Irene Hollenback Pigaga. Proud member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Daughters of the American Colonists and Telephone Pioneers. Perhaps proudest of all of the many gallons of blood donated to the American Red Cross throughout her life. Ruth was a longtime resident of the Benson neighborhood who enjoyed international travel, the touring Broadway productions at the Orpheum, and spending time with family and friends. Survived by nieces and nephews: Janice and Rick Samson (Omaha), Carl and Lois Pigaga (Ashland), and Thom and Teresa Pigaga (Omaha); great nieces: Kate (Boston, MA) and Annie Pigaga (Omaha) and great nephews: Joe (Charlotte, NC), Andrew and Jon Samson (Omaha); cousins Larry and Judy Effken (Oro Valley, AZ) and Kathryn Grams (Carrollton, GA). Private interment at Sterling (NE) Cemetery, Wednesday, December 14. A memorial service will be held at Rockbrook United Methodist Church, 9855 West Center Road at 2 p.m., also Wednesday, December 14. Memorials to the American Red Cross or the Sterling Cemetery Association.
