Helen I. (Radil) Cummins

“The Roadrunner”

January 2, 1928 – April 27, 2022

Helen was preceded in death by her parents, Beulah and Edward Wallace; sister, Jeanne Brownlee; husbands, George A. Radil and Leo Cummins.  She is survived by her children: Gary Radil (Diana), Bill Radil (Teri), and Cheryl Alba (Mark); grandchildren: Steve Radil (Jennifer), Shane McCreary, Nick Radil (Niki), Jeff Radil (Sheri Fisher), Erin Vanatta (Chris), and Lisa Morgan (Gene); great-grandchildren: Max Radil, Kira Radil, Vince Radil, Wilson Radil, Nicole Vanatta, Jocelyn Vanatta, Cheyenne Vanatta, and Hugh Vanatta.

Helen was born in Earlsboro, Oklahoma. She moved around Kansas, Colorado, and Oklahoma while her father worked the oil fields.  After her dad passed, they moved to Omaha in her teen years.  Helen met and married George Radil and together raised their three children in Omaha.  Later in Life she married Leo Cummins and shared her life with him in Mesa, Arizona.  She spent the last 4 ½ years at Heritage at Sterling Ridge here in Omaha.

Helen spent her life enjoying her family, travel, dancing, music, painting, playing cards, golf, cooking, and enjoying the great outdoors!

VISITATION begins on Tuesday, May 3rd at 10am at the West Center Chapel, followed by SERVICES at 11am.  Officiating will be Pastor Justin Bell of Grace Hill Lutheran Church in Omaha.  Following the Service, please join the family for lunch at Wedgewood Townhomes Clubhouse, 966 S. 118th Pl. (north of 120th and Pacific).  Memorials are suggested to Alzheimer’s Association.

    We have truly missed Helen over the years since she moved back to NE after Leo passed. She is one of the few great-grandparents Noelle was fortunate enough to spend time with, visit and love. We will miss her hugs, sass, humor and wisdom! All our Love, Christa and Noelle Cummins
