Helen P. (Heavey) Thompson
August 8, 1917 – January 11, 2019
She was preceded in death by her parents, Alex and Pauline Schmidt; husbands, James Heavey and Leo Thompson. She is survived by her daughter, Linda Ryba (Richard); son, Thomas Heavey (Annette); five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Monday, January 14th from 5pm to 7pm at the West Center Chapel, followed by VIGIL SERVICE at 7pm. MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL: Tuesday, January 15th at 11am at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 3122 S. 74th Street, Omaha NE. Interment, St.. Mary Magdanene Cemetery.
Memorials are suggested to St. Thomas More Catholic Church and and St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church.

My thoughts and prayers are with you during this sad time. I will always remember Helen & Jim fondly and have wonderful memories of times spent with both of them during my younger years. They leave behind a family that will be a great source of comfort and support to one another.

Dear Linda and Tom,
My heart goes out to you and the family. Your mom was such a remarkable woman. I have fond memories of her, and spending time with all of you at your home as a small child. And while I know that this a very difficult time, what a blessing to have lived such a long and full life. I know she is in a better place. I like to think my dad Leonard, was there to greet his big sister with open arms. I am sorry that I’m not able to be there for the funeral, but i will be there is spirit and send my prayers and blessings to you all.
