I am so sorry to hear of Howard’s passing. I got to know him quite well through work at the bank over the years and always enjoyed a nice visit with him. My thoughts and prayers are with the family at this very difficult time.

Rosie and family, we are heartbroken over Howard’s too early departure from all of us. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all. Howard was a special guy who touched the hearts of many. May God give you strength to get through these difficult days and months ahead.

I considered Dr. Howard Blaxall to be my best friend. We talked with each other countless times and discussed everything and anything. When I faced hard times, hard luck, and any other difficult events, Howard would call and check up on me, find out how I was doing and let me voice my worries. He did this even more than my own brothers and sisters. We traded ideas and opinions on anything and everything. Howard loved talking about his very brave dad who served during WWII in the Royal Air Force (RAF). We traded info and experiences about anything and everything. Howard came to know more top secret details about myself than my own family. I trusted Howard with any information. I never had and will never have again as good a friend as Howard was to me.

Howard Blaxall was respected, as a chemist, educator, and particularly as a colleague. I never felt bad after a conversation with him. He had an unusually even temperament, even when under stress. I know he is at peace, but grieve for those he left so suddenly. May they find solace and connections that help them recover from the loss.

Howard was, by all accounts, a gifted and loved teacher and colleague at UNO. Many of us, though we may not have seen Howard much recently, had the privilege of knowing and working with him in his first years in Omaha as a post-doctoral research associate in Pharmacology at UNMC. He was talented and dedicated and clever and good at teaching back then already. And as others who worked with him more recently have commented, he was good-natured, fun to work with, happy to help, and a true friend. We are all grieving his loss but also sharing our fond memories and feeling grateful for the good things he brought to our lives.

    To Rosie and family,
I am so sorry to hear of Howard’s passing. He was such a kind person, and was a real help to me as an Assistant Instructor during my years at UNO. Prayers for all those who loved him.

It was my pleasure to work with Dr. Blaxall when he taught for the nursing program at Midland. He was always good in the classroom and wanted the students to excel in their understanding of Pharmacology. My thoughts and prayers are with you as you grieve his loss. We all looked forward to seeing Howard on his annual pilgrimage to the UK. We had some great times and enjoyed trips made by Howard and Rosie over to Yorkshire. Nine of us had a wonderful break last July in Whitby, North Yorkshire and shared a beautiful cottage – this included real ale, fish and chips and lots of laughs. Paul even managed not to argue about football as Howard was an ardent Liverpool fan and Paul, (Howard’s first cousin), supports Everton. Howard related well to both our children, Ben and Katie. He had the typical Blaxall dry sense of humour and never lost his Liverpool accent! Howard will be sadly missed by all the family. Our thoughts are with you Rosie and we will definitely see you to remember Howard when you next visit the UK.
