Ian M. Kreifels

Ian M. Kreifels

December 26, 1993 – August 22, 2024

Ian walked through life with a bright light, shining it wherever he went. Whatever he did, he was all in.  When someone needed help, he was quick to roll up his sleeves. There were no strangers in his world. Only friends that he hadn’t met yet. He never missed a chance to make others smile or laugh. He loved to create, whether he was building a deck, doing a project around the house, or playing guitar.  Above all, family came first. His girls were everything to him. Father, partner, brother, son, grandson, cousin, friend. His gift to the world was to leave it a brighter place than he found it. He lives on, in all of the lives he touched. Gone but not forgotten.

Ian was preceded in death by grandparents, Don and Karlene Garner, Jean Kreifels; uncles, Shane and Sean Garner.  He is survived by daughters, Jasey Zimmerline and her mother, M.A. Zimmerline, Lillian Kreifels; loving partner, Ashlee Henize; parents, John and Samara Kreifels; sister, Aniya Kreifels; grandparents, Clifford Kreifels, Donna Garner; many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 28th, from 11AM-1PM at West Center Chapel with a Memorial Service at 1PM.

Heafey-Hoffmann-Dworak-Cutler, West Center Chapel, 7805 West Center Road, Omaha, Ne 68124. (402)-391-3900. www.heafeyheafey.com.

Oh, Ian. It’s been years since we spoke and I can still remember your laugh. I’ll never forget our silly conversations in the lunch line or the fact that you stood up for me when I was being bullied. My heart goes out to your girls and your family. Rest in peace, sweet friend.

My dear cousin Ian, your soul was one of the purest of them all. You always came down to everyone’s level to make them feel heard. I will go through the rest of my life trying to carry forth even just a shred of that. That is what gives life meaning; that is what gives death significance. To carry on and share the humanity you have to the world. May you be resting now in everlasting peace and tranquility; I love you cousin Ian.
