Jack Mullin

MULLIN, Jack, Jul 22, 1925 – Nov 26, 2010. Jack passed away at Hospice House surrounded by family. Thanksgiving was spent with laughter and partaking a few sips of beer. Jack was born in Artesian, SD to Gert (Mooney) and Brian Mullin. He was raised on the farm before enlisting in the Navy during WWII, serving in the Pacific. Jack graduated from Creighton University. He was a founding member of I-Tappa-Kegga-Beer fraternity. He retired from Leo A. Daly before working 14 more years at UNMC. Jack loved laughter, working on cars, tending his garden and sharing ice cream with grand-and great-grandchildren. He had a strong work ethic and was always willing to lend a helping hand. Survived by his wife of 60 years, Lucille (Franco) Mullin; children: Marilee (Jim VandeVegt), Linda Arnold (Scott), John (Marirose Ferrara), Richard (Carola Bustamante); 10 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; brother Bill (Helen) and sister Rose Elaine. VISITATION Friday, 5pm-7pm at the West Center Chapel, with VIGIL SERVICE at 7pm. MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL Saturday, 9:30am, St. Leo the Great Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Siena/Francis House Omaha, NE.
