 Jack W. Payne, Television and Radio Broadcasting pioneer of 47 years, passed away on June 2nd at New Cassel Retirement Center in Omaha. 

Jack was born on January 27, 1923 in Okemah, OK, to W. L. and Mary Payne.  Preceded in death by parents and by wife of 69 years, Connie; sister, Lois; and brothers: Wilson, J.R., and Joe.  Survived by daughters, Karen Shaw (Ray) of Palm Desert, CA, and Jackie O’Brien (Tom) of San Antonio, TX; grandsons: Tim O’Brien of San Antonio, Doug Sandstedt (Jill) of Chandler, AZ, Raymond Shaw (Julie) of Huntington Beach, CA and David Shaw (Michelle) of Dublin, CA; great-grandson, Jackson Barry of Millis, MA; granddaughters, Wendy Barry (Jon) of Millis, and Kathryn O’Brien of Houston, TX; great-granddaughters: Emma Barry of Millis, Carly, Annika and Hannah Sandstedt of Chandler, and Madison Shaw and Gabriella Shaw of Dublin, CA.

VISITATION: Friday, October 7th from 5pm to 7pm at the West Center Chapel.  MEMORIAL SERVICE: Saturday, October 8th at 11am at First Baptist Church, 421 Park Ave., 68131.  Private Family Interment with Military Honors. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to First Baptist Church in Omaha, or Marbridge Foundation in Manchaca, TX 78652.

    To the Payne’s… I’m pretty sure you know this, but Jack was one of the kindest men anyone’s had the pleasure to know. My interactions with him were limited, but I ALWAYS came away impressed with how he carried himself and more importantly, how he treated everybody fairly. Please know you’re in my prayers.
