Jacqueline Claire McNally

Jacqueline Claire McNally

Feb 7, 1929 – Jan 4, 2018

For eighty-eight years her blue Irish eyes smiled brightly. Born on February 7, 1929 in Omaha Nebraska, Jacqueline Claire McNally spent her childhood years in Neola Iowa, her adolescence in Council Bluffs, Iowa, and her adult years in Omaha.  She died from pneumonia on January 4, 2018 in Bellevue, NE. Claire showered love and kindness onto multitudes including her husband of sixty-seven years, Austin Neal “Pat” McNally; her children and their spouses: Maureen Smithberg (Steve), Kathleen Boyle (Larry), Colleen Moore (Dan), Michael McNally (Mary Ann), Ann Marie Jensen (Mike), and Richard McNally; her fourteen grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren.  Claire was preceded in death by her parents, Mary Ann Cecelia Ring-Kenney and Luke Michael Kenney; her siblings: Mary Kathleen Kenney, Patricia Kuehl, Mary Jo Friel, and Edward Kenney. Claire nurtured her family with fervent interest in their individual activities, frequent family gatherings, superb meals, and a spirit of ‘can-do’ pragmatism. She was an avid conversationalist and was always available when a relative or friend needed assistance.

The family will receive friends on Monday, Jan. 8th from 5pm to 7pm at the West Center chapel, followed by VIGIL SERVICE at 7pm.  MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL on Tuesday Jan. 9th at 11am at Saint Columbkille Catholic Church, 200 East 6th St. in Papillion, NE, followed by luncheon at the Parish Center. Memorials are suggested to Saint Columbkille Catholic Church.

She was the only woman I know that had so much spunk & the huge heart to go with it. She taught me a gold mine through my years. God bless you Uncle Pat & prayers to our cousins

On behalf of all six of the Bertagni Children (Sue, Monsignor Ted, Nancy, Steve, Tina & Jody) , we send our deepest condolences to your family. We remember the McNally family well and Claire’s stunning blue eyes. Wasn’t until I read her birth date that I remembered we shared the same day (Feb 7th) , a day after Ann’s. You are in our thoughts and prayers. Nancy Bertagni Wackerhagen

Claire meant the world to our family. Our heart sunk when we heard of her passing. She would stop by from time to time and spend time with us, always keeping in touch, so special of her to do that. She will be missed!
