Jake Christopher Marlin was born January 25, 1975, in Norfolk, Nebraska. His family moved to Omaha, Nebraska where Jake graduated from Omaha Central High School  in 1993.  Jake earned his Omaha Journeyman Plumbers License and worked for Local 16.  He enjoyed working with so many great people and was so proud of the jobs that he contributed to.

Jake enjoyed road trips with his family to the lake, golfing with friends and family and enjoying the outdoors.  He loved his children more than anything and would give the shirt off his back for anyone in need.  On many occasions you would find Jake sitting on his front porch with his favorite beverage in hand, yelling at the speeders passing by.  Jake was known for Hawaiian and inappropriate shirts, the best bear hugs, karaoke skills and his contagious smile.  Jake will be missed by many and will forever hold a special place in our hearts.

Jake passed away on March 12, 2022, in Omaha at the Josie Harper Hospice House surrounded by loved ones.  He is survived by children: Sophie, Jude, Beau and their mother, Kathleen; sisters: Melissa Brouillette (Tim) of North Platte, Nebraska and children, Mindy Eichelberger (Nathan) of Cape Coral, Florida and children, Molli Dickeson of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; parents, Georgia Marlin of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Trish Ambroz of Lincoln, Nebraska, Jim and Tracy Ambroz of Norfolk,  NE; brothers: Thomas, Randy and Charlie Ambroz; mother-in- law, Kathy Haley of Omaha, NE; many sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law; 26 nieces and nephews who love him dearly.

Preceded in death by father, Ben Marlin; father-in-law, Edward Haley.

I’m not from the area where Jake grew up. Actually I’m from a bad area. But as long as I seen Jake somewhere I knew it was ok and safe to be there. His smile lit up the spot. And his laugh made every occasion have the best energy!

Sending healing prayers and comforting hugs to the Marlin family and friends. Jake was the kindest and friendliest guy to all. I will never forget telling Kathleen, “he was the one!” He was an awesome son, friend, father and husband. Jake, Rest In Peace.
