James Edward O’Connor
April 5, 1953 – June 3, 2024
James “Jim” Edward O’Connor, aged 71, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, shortly after receiving a diagnosis of pancreatic cancer. He was a beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather, and friend.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Diana Fuller; daughters, Elizabeth O’Connor (Eli Rosenberg) and Maggie O’Connor; sister, Ann O’Connor (Tim Davlin); granddaughter, Evelyn Virginia Rosenberg; nephew, Patrick Davlin (Zoe Ursick); aunts, Kathleen Conry, Geraldine Conry; sisters-in-law, Liane Fuller (Matthew Effken) and Marlene Fuller; as well as many cousins.
Preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Virginia Conry O’Connor; his brothers, Michael G. O’Connor and Thomas R. O’Connor; his uncles, Jack, Richard and Father Roy Conry; and his Aunt Dorothy; and Uncle Frank.
Jim was a graduate of Notre Dame Law School, University of Nebraska Omaha, and Rummel High School. He dedicated 46 years to the legal profession and practiced law at Baird Holm LLP for 21 years, during which time he helped to establish and served as the section leader of the Technology, Security, & Intellectual Property section of the firm. He served as a commissioner of the Uniform Law Commission, where he contributed to the development of uniform state laws, affecting legal practices across the nation. Jim also mentored many attorneys that became some of the best in the region.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Jim was a man of many passions. Jim was a lifelong fan of Notre Dame football. Jim also had a passion for technology and enjoyed keeping up with the latest advancements, and took pride in his own fully automated home. Jim’s kindness, wisdom, and unwavering dedication to his family and profession will be deeply missed but never forgotten.

Diana, I am so sorry to hear of Jim’s passing! He was a great guy and I always enjoyed seeing the two of you. He will be greatly missed by many! Our prayers are with you and your family.
