James “Jim” Warren
April 25, 1937 – October 15, 2023
Jim is survived by his wife, Dian Warren; his children, Jeff (Michele) Warren, Jill (Burt) Kohler; his grandchildren: Josie Warren, Kellie Warren, Miles Kohler and Hampton Kohler; stepchildren: Cindy (Tim Houghton) Moore, Scott (Wendy) Moore, Andy (Shelby) Moore; step-grandchildren: Brooke (Matt) Jacobs, Bradie Benjamin, RJ Moore, Sarah Moore, Hannah Moore, Audrey Houghton, Abby Moore, Jacob Moore, Maddie Moore, Megan Moore, Morgan Moore; step-great-grandchildren, Dawson Jacobs, Cooper Jacobs; and numerous nieces, nephews and great friends.
He graduated from Benson High School in 1955, and University of Colorado in 1959; although he was always a dedicated Husker fan!
He was a Stockbroker for over 40 years, working at First Mid America and Paine Webber, and retiring as a Corporate Vice President from UBS.
He was an avid golfer; although an even better instructor than player, skier, Rotarian, card player and adventurous traveler.
He was preceded in death by his parents, MJ “Zack” and Isabelle “Ibby” Warren; his wife of 50 years, Josephine Warren; his sister, Charlotte (Bill) Fry; and his step-grandson Bill Houghton.
Jim was known as an amazing uncle, a fun friend, “gentleman” Jim, and, most importantly a beloved “Papa”. His generosity, wisdom and sense of humor are legendary.
VISITATION: Thursday, October 19, 2023, 4 to 6 p.m., at the West Center Chapel, 7805 W Center Rd. FUNERAL SERVICE: Friday, October 20, 2023, 11 a.m., at the West Center Chapel. INTERNMENT: Forest Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Nebraska Humane Society, the National M.S. Society, or the charity of your choice.
