James Joseph Kotlarz
August 19, 1951 – July 12, 2020
James Joseph Kotlarz was born at St Joseph Hospital in Omaha Nebraska on August 19, 1951 to Stanley W. and Evelyn (Alex) Kotlarz. He attended Saints Peter and Paul grade school for eight years. He then went on and attended Omaha South High School where he was involved in various special interest groups including the radio and optimist clubs. He graduated in 1969 from South High and then went on to attend the United Electronics Institute in Des Moines, Iowa where graduated in 1971. He also attended classes at the University of Nebraska at Omaha. He worked for various companies throughout the Omaha area for numerous years. They included Hinky Dinky retail stores, National Semiconductor, First Data Resources and Nexturna. In 1975 he was married to Michaela Maher and they were blessed with two beautiful children a son, Michael James and a daughter, Susan Marie. He eventually retired in 2015.
He enjoyed various hobbies and especially his love of electronics, his extensive knowledge of rock music and fishing. He especially loved the family fishing trips and get-togethers in Minnesota.
Preceded in death by his father, Stanley Kotlarz. Survived by his children, Mike (Shannon) and Susie (Bryan); grandchildren, Audrey and Finn; mother, Evelyn; sister, Janice (Jim); niece, Jill (Brad); nephew Jon; and many friends.
All funeral services will be held at Heafey Hoffmann Dworak and Cutler at 7805 West Center Road Omaha, NE 68124. VISITATION: Friday, July 17th from 5pm to 7pm followed by PRAYER SERVICE at 7pm. FUNERAL SERVICE: Saturday, July 18th, 9am. INTERMENT: St. John’s Cemetery 7506 So 36th St Bellevue, NE 68147.
