October 17, 1927 – March 10, 2020
Preceded in death by parents; brother, John; and sisters, Julie Nelsen and Rose Heavey. Survived by wife, Louise; children: Alice Bunz (Roger, deceased), Nancy Dahlgren (James), James Overfelt (Christine), Alan Overfelt (Rose), Michael Overfelt (Michelle) and LuAnne Brightweiser (Tony); 16 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
Family will receive friends Friday, March 13th from 5pm to 7pm, at the West Center Chapel followed by VIGIL SERVICE at 7pm. SERVICES: Saturday, March 14th, 9:15am, West Center Chapel to St. Mary Catholic Church (3529 Q St.) at 10am for MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL. INTERMENT: Calvary Cemetery with Military Honors by American Legion Post 1. Memorials will be directed by the family.

My sincere condolences on Jim’s passing. Always enjoyed our rare visits,
especially my last visit in 2005, I think, when Jim greeted me at the door “Louise, it’s the old man” referring to my dad. Always hard to lose family, but Jim even more so! Great husband, dad, grandpa and cousin. Love to all, Cousin Jim from Chicago.

Very sorry to learn of your father’s passing-I also shared a name with mine also Jim and sure he is & will be missed! w/o a working car now so can’t make the service but best wishes of condolence to all the family & always-still in the BIG O but may move to Kearney area next year-fair health now & was good to know both you brothers Jim & Alan & work at Redfield & Co. about 30 years with you both-sympathy to all the family & friends!
