James R. Papek
January 9, 1952 – June 2, 2022
James R. Papek peacefully passed on June 2, 2022. Jim is survived by his sisters, Shirley Maggard (Gerry) and Rosemary Kohler (Doug); and brother, Joseph Papek (Marcia).
Jim was a lifelong resident of Omaha. He had his own tile business for many years. He loved his work and enjoyed being with family and friends. He never missed a chance to celebrate with family during special occasions. He would drive hundreds of miles to be with us. Jim was especially talented in the canning process. He canned hot peppers (look out!), pickles, sauerkraut (look out again), relish, salsa, etc. He has, through the years, given hundreds of jars away to neighbors, friends and relatives. That was Jim’s love shining through! We will miss him so very much!
Friends and Relatives are invited to join us in Celebration of Jim’s life on Tuesday, June 14th from 4pm to 7pm at the West Center Chapel of Heafey-Hoffmann-Dworak-Cutler Mortuaries, 7805 W. Center Rd., Omaha, NE 68124.

He was the best Uncle-protective, fun, and generous. His spirit has been all around us reminding us that he is safe and well on the other side. We realize that his quick passing, so abrupt for all of us, was probably part of his and God’s plan to minimize his suffering. He will be missed by all of us. May we find comfort in our memories of him.
