James  W. “Jim” Kemp

June 11, 1949 – February 19, 2018

Jim Kemp, 68, died on February 19th at Nebraska Medicine in Omaha, NE. Jim was born and raised in Charles City, IA, eventually moving to Apple Valley, MN where he met his wife, Jane, and they started their family. Jim and Jane celebrated 41 years of marriage this past December. Jim spent 25 years with Waste Management in Savage, MN and later transferred to Omaha, NE. Jim, a lifelong car enthusiast, later worked as a Manager at HP Motorsports in Omaha.

Jim enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, hunting, dog training, football, wrestling and building cars, but most important was helping friends and spending time with his family. He was a proud husband, father, and grandfather.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Jill; father, Irvin; son, Brian; mother, Lorraine.  He is survived by his wife, Jane E. Kemp; daughters Beth Kemp (Kylee), and Missy Kemp; grandson, Brian Kemp.

VISITATION: Sunday, Feb. 25th from 3pm to 5pm at the West Center Chapel.  Memorials will be directed by the family.

    I am so sorry for the loss of Jim. He was the best guy. I have the best memories of him that I will cherish forever. May God wrap His arms around all of you and hold you tight. Sending every one of you a huge hug!

    Sorry for your loss. Jim spoke with a kind heart. He was strong willed and deeply cared for others. He will be missed by those who knew him. Prayers to the family.
