James Wesley Summers

After a long illness, Jim went to be with the Lord on June 27, 2017. He was surrounded by his family at his passing. He was preceded in death by his father, Tilford Wesley Summers and mother Emma Clara Summers.
He is survived by his loving wife, Janet Ann, sons/daughter and their spouses: Jody (Jim) Kriegler, Plattsmouth, NE; Jim (Christi) Summers, Scottsdale, AZ; Jay (Nancy) Summers, Carrollton, TX; Jon (Wendy) Summers, Omaha, NE; grandchildren: Thomas James Kriegler, Katie Kriegler, Ben Kriegler (Beth), Chris Kriegler (Amy), Megan Kriegler, Nathan (Roslyn) Summers, Rachael (Burton) Roberts, Natalie (Andrew) Severyn, Lauren (Kyle) Cannaday, Anne Summers, Grace Summers, Zachary (Amanda) Summers, Alec (Julie) Summers, Ethan Summers, great grandchildren, Christopher Santos, Logan Summers; Parker and Regan Roberts; Adaline Severyn; Adalyn and Gabrielle Summers; Violet Cannaday; Nathan, Annabel and Michael Kriegler; Gus, Hank, Leo and Oscar Kriegler; and sister Marilyn Sibert.
Jim and Jan were happily married since January 29, 1955. Since 1964 they lived in their home on Jackson Street where they shared their life together and lovingly raised their family. Jim enjoyed gardening, fishing, golfing and vacationing with his wife and family. He was a man of strong faith who shared his time and talents with his church and other community organizations.
Jim served his country during the Korean Conflict. He was employed by Mobile Oil and then Willsie Cap and Gown company in Omaha. During his 40 years at Willsie, he served in many capacities, including sales manager and vice president. He will be terribly missed by his family and friends!
A Memorial Brunch will be held on Saturday, July 22 at 10:00 am at Countryside Community Church, 8787 Pacific Street in Omaha.
