Janet K. Nowaczyk, daughter of John and Margaret Mahoney, was born on June 24, 1952 in Omaha. She entered into rest on Tuesday, April 12, 2022 at her home, surrounded by her family. She was raised in Bellevue, Nebraska and graduated from Omaha Ryan High School in 1970.
Jan was united in marriage to William Nowaczyk on May 1, 1971, at St. Bernadette Catholic Church. They started their family and raised six beautiful children who blessed them with fourteen grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
Jan was a stay-at-home mom and provided daycare for many other children. She joined OPPD in March of 1992 as a mail clerk and worked her way to Treasury Clerk, Corporate Accounting. She retired on September 1, 2012, after twenty years of service.
Jan was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to everyone she met. She enjoyed being around those she cared about—always there with a great smile and big heart.
1 Condolence
I am very sorry to hear about the passing of Janet. Your family is in my thoughts and prayers. I started in the mailroom at OPPD a short time before Janet and worked with her for a few years. She was great to work with and we always had fun. She was always cheerful, she will be missed.
