Janet attended school at Ashland Park Elementary and Omaha South High School. She was married to Joseph Francis for 59 years and had two children. They had a truly loving life together. The family took vacations all over the country. Janet’s favorite trips were to the mountains, whether that was skiing, driving through them, hiking or camping. She traveled to 49 of the states. Janet was gifted with creativity. She enjoyed glazing ceramics, sewing, making flower arrangements and painting. The basement would be plum full of flowers, ribbons, tree branches, greenery, glue guns, fabrics, paint, we could go on and on. She had fun with Josie(mother-in-law) in art classes, decorating for family weddings and making Halloween costumes for the grandkids. We are displaying several of her paintings at the services. It was a joy to see her home full of decorations each holiday. Oh, did she love to shop with her best friend for season or home décor, but it always must be on sale. She was involved in Girl Scouts with her daughter. She attended St. Bernadette church and volunteered her time decorating and painting the statues. Janet loved being with her grandkids and great grandkids. She enjoyed taking them to different events around town. She attended many of the grandkid’s games for baseball, football, tennis and softball. Always taking pictures along the way. During all these trips and activities, she worked at UPS for 31 years and a few others prior. Janet was caring and wanted the best for everyone. She will be deeply missed.
