GRAVES, Janet Rose Feb 12, 1934 Jun 22, 2013 Age 79, a longtime resident of Omaha, passed away peacefully on June 22, 2013 at Bergan Mercy Medical Center in Omaha after battling a long illness. Janet was born in Gary, Indiana to Gladys and Ray Butz on February 12, 1934. She graduated from Horace Mann High School in 1952 and married in 1958. Janet was one of a kind and a devoted wife and mother who enjoyed good food, sweets and socializing. She was a fabulous cook. She loved flowers, animals, the 50s, movies, music, dancing, and the occasional Mogen David. In addition, Janet remained a loyal fan to her beloved Chicago White Sox. There wasnt anything she couldnt do, and she never knew a stranger. Janet was preceded in death by her parents, Gladys and Frederick Ray Butz; brother, Gordon Gordy Butz; husband, Gerald Jerry Graves. Survivors include: daughter, Jackie Maher (Joe) of Orlando; son, John Graves (Janice) of Omaha; grandsons, Brendan and Quinn Maher; several nieces and nephews and other relatives. VISITATION and Time of Sharing will be Tuesday, June 25th from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the West Center Chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Bergan Mercy Healing Garden. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to all the nurses and doctors at Bergan Mercy Medical Center for their support in Janets final days.
