Janice C. Siragusa

Janice Clare Siragusa

December 23, 1940 – January 10, 2020

Our beloved wife, mother, and grandmother died peacefully at home. She was preceded in death by parents, Bernadine and Leo Tegels; brother, Leo Jr.; daughter, Teresa; grandson, Jude. Survived by husband, Al; sisters, Diane Blakley, Mary Lee Baker; brothers, Arden (Marcile) Tegels, Allan (Patty) Tegels, children: Tim Siragusa, Dan Siragusa (Ronnie Martin), Kelly Adams (Tom), Toni Siragusa, Pat Siragusa (Kim Vavra), grandchildren: Claire, Paul, Veronica and Stephanie; many nieces, nephews and members of the Siragusa family.

Our mother brought joy to everyone who knew her.  Her kindness shone in her beautiful blue eyes that were even more bright when she smiled.  Even in hard times she managed a reassuring smile to let us know everything was going to be okay.  Nothing made her happier than entertaining family for a birthday or holiday.  When her children were gathered around the table eating pizza or her delicious spaghetti, followed by cards and board games, she was beaming with pride.  We are the family she built with her love, affection and a tremendous well of forgiveness.  We will cherish her memory forever.

Family receives friends Tuesday, January 14th from 5pm to 7pm, at the West Center Chapel followed by VIGIL SERVICE at 7pm.  MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL: Wednesday, January 15th, 11am, St. James Catholic Church (4720 N. 90 St.)  INTERMENT: Calvary Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Omaha Public Library, Nebraska Humane Society or St. James Catholic Church.

Our hearts go out to all of the family with special thoughts for our friends Tim and Dan. We are so sorry for this sudden and wrenching loss, and are thinking of you all. May each day bring a little peace and acceptance for you as you move through these difficult times.

We are so sad not to be able to come and celebrate your Mom’s wonderful life. Ever since I can remember, your mom was quick with a hug and a smile. She and your Dad took such good care of Grandma (Nancy), that I will always be grateful for their kindest and generosity. She will be greatly missed, we will be praying for you all.

From the first time I met Jan at Hy-Vee on 90th St. I knew of her kindness and love of her family. I enjoyed every moment working with your Mom at that location and then at 132nd and Dodge. Seeing her and Al again as she shopped and as I worked at 108th and Fort. Loved hearing how the kids and grands were growing up. Jan and Al always had a hug and smile for me. I will truly miss her. I am so sorry for your loss. Prayers for your whole family.
